Monday 11/4 is Last Time to Sign Up for the Worldwide Party on 11/15 & 11/18!

Hello Parents of LH!

These weeks have certainly been busy with Halloween, sports, and school activities that we wanted to call attention to the 11/15 and 11/18 “Worldwide Party” L-H Multicultural Events to ensure the success of the programs.

The format is a bit different this year so we didn’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to Sign Up Here by this Monday (11/4) and involve your children in the multicultural celebrations.

1. Mon 11/18 Daytime Assembly: “United Colors of LH” (students only)

Your children have the opportunity to represent a country of their choice by wearing a sports jersey, tshirt, or dress up traditionally per that culture. This could even be a Team USA soccer jersey or tshirt with a flag of a country they visited.  Students will walk from the back of the gym onto the stage, and share their name / grade / country they’re representing / an interesting fact about it.

We only have 12 students signed up so far. We know that L-H can do better than that to show support! Please consider asking your children to participate. Kids representing the same country can walk together (like the parade of nations at the Olympics). On the day of, organizers will find the students who signed up and line them up at the start of the assembly.

So far, only 12 students representing: Austria, Belarus, China, India, Ireland, Korea, Lithuania, Puerto Rico, Romania

2. Fri 11/15 Food Fair: “Passport to the World” (LH families invited 5-7pm)

This is our signature program that we’re bringing back for the 2nd year in a row! Parent volunteers can sign up to host a table and share food samples from a country of their choice. The PTO is generously reimbursing each volunteer up to $50 to use toward food! There’s still time to sign up. Even if you don’t volunteer, we hope that your family will join us that night. The whole LH community is invited to this free event!

Countries represented so far: Austria, Brazil, China, Greece, India, Korea, Lithuania, Lebanon, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Spain

We themed this year’s multicultural programs as “Worldwide Party” because it’s a global celebration of all backgrounds and cultures. Jojo Siwa says it best: “One heart, one beat, Worldwide Party!”

Thank you,

Warm regards,

The L-H Multicultural Day Committee
